Freezing in Firefox
Every time I go to the translation page here on dotsub.com, the
same thing happens:
The page runs fine in 5-10 seconds, then it freezes 5-10 seconds,
then runs fine again. It is impossible to work under these
circumstances, what is the problem? I run the newest Mozilla
Firefox browser (I tried in IE 8 but it freezes there as well).
Please, someone help me!

Hello Louise,
What causes it to freeze? When you translate an item? What operating system are you using (XP or Vista)
If you are looking for a short term fix while I look into this issue, I'd recommend using google chrome. So you can at least keep working while I fix this.
Thanks,

Hi Brooks,
I use Vista and it is the translation page in general that freezes. When I go from TED.com to the translation page, it starts freezing. Then I can write for 5-10 seconds, then it freezes again.
BUT - I tried to translate in Safari, and it worked perfectly! Yet Firefox is my standard browser so it would be nice if you could fix my problem in some way.
Thank you.

I too have safari and firefox on my mac. Safari seems to be the faster of the two. I am looking into the firefox issue. Some users have reported something similar since the 3.5.2 release, but it has often been fixed by rebooting or restarting firefox.
How much RAM and how fast is your CPU?
Thanks,
Brooks L.

Hello Lousie,
Firefox released 3.5.3 today, this release included some performance optimizations.
Let me know if you still see that 5 second lag after updating.
Thanks.

I just downloaded the 3.5.3 version, and now there is no lagging at all.
Thank you for your help!
