Why do you close (Resolve) General Discussion threads?

I wonder why you treat a discussion thread like a "ticket". In my mind a discussion thread should be kept open as dotsub users may want to contribute with alternative solutions and related issues. We all benefit from the growth and development of this (great) platform and would like to be given the chance to actively contribute to the discussions.
