Project Dashboard: Project Settings

Last Updated: May 21, 2015 02:05PM EDT
This tab allows Project Managers to customize the project.

Project Defaults

These are the default settings that will be applied to videos ingested into your project as well as who can manage your Dotsub project. To edit these settings hit the gear icon.

Project Managers

To add a project manager, just type their Dotsub username into the text area. To remove a project manager click on the 'x' next to their name.

Default Language

Most video platforms do not track what language a video is in. This setting provides a default language for any ingested video. This is used when we do not know what language a video file is.

Default License

This selects the default license for videos added to your project. This is used as a default when uploading videos and as the selected license when ingesting from a video platform.

Default Permission

This selects the default permission for videos added to your project. This is used as a default when uploading videos and as the selected license when ingesting from a video platform.

Videos Posted By

This selects username that videos to your project will be uploaded as.

Media Ingestors

Media ingestors are used to bring videos from your video platform into your Dotsub project. You can setup one media ingestor per project. Configuration will depend on the video platform. Please check the setup article for your video platform for setup details.

Media Push

Media push is used to send captions and translations back to your video platform. You can setup one media push per project. Configuration will depend on the video platform. Please check the setup article for your video platform for setup details.

Standing Orders

Standing orders configure what you need when a new video is uploaded to the VLMS. Standing orders can be made for captions, translations, reviews and burn-in files.

Language Leads

Allows you to set a junior manager category per language. Language leads will only have access to the translations in their managed language - having the ability to review, assign reviewers and publish captions and translations (optional).

Auto Publish

Auto publish settings allow you to have your captions automatically published. This is useful when you are using a simple workflow that does not contain a review step or want to instantly publish after reviewing.

Default Burn-In Settings

These are the default settings used when burning subtitles into a video file. These can be used to control things such as font size, font blur, bit rate, backing plate color and text position.

Auto Assign Settings

Auto assign is used to have the VLMS assign an item to user. This is applicable to captions, translations and reviews. When a new item of the configured type is created the configured user will be assigned.

Default Subtitle Specifications

Default subtitle specifications define what you are requesting for every video captioned or translated in the VLMS. This ensures consistency for all the captions Dotsub creates for your project.

Ping API Settings

For use with the Dotsub API to send notifications to a URL when your media has been updated or an order is complete.

Project Reminders

Can be customized to help you manage your resources automatically. If you click on the plus sign to the right of the title bar, you get the option to add new actions.

You can either set automated reminders after a certain period of time a project has been assigned, or remove a captioner/translator from such project after a certain period has passed.

Project Email Templates

Allows you to customize the automated system e-mails that are triggered with every status change in your project (new video, captions assigned, captions complete, etc.). In order to edit those, click on the gear icon to the right of the title bar.
