Batch-Downloading your Captions and Translations

Last Updated: Sep 09, 2015 12:33PM EDT
This article will help you download your captions and translations in batches, rather than one at a time.
Once your captions and/or translations are completed, log in to Dotsub.com > Menu > My Projects:

Once you have selected your project's name, locate the Batch Download Captions button, at the bottom of your screen, as seen below:

A prompt will appear, allowing you to select the specifications for the subtitles:

  • Language: choose the language of the captions you wish to download;
  • Caption Type: choose the download format, including SubRip (.srt), Timed Text (.dfxp), Video Test Track (.vtt) and Avid DS (.txt);
  • Start Date / End Date: date range when the videos were first uploaded into Dotsub, and when the captions/translations were last modified;
  • Offset (optional value): enter a value in seconds to export the captions with a specific offset.
    If you need all subtitles to have a delay of 2 seconds, you would enter 2 on this field.
    The field also admits a negative value, so if you need all subtitles to appear 2 seconds earlier, you would enter -2 on this field.

Once you have entered the values above, click on the Batch Download Captions button, and you will be prompted to save a .ZIP file containing the captions/translations to your computer.
