Dotsub access to YouTube

Malia Bruker Apr 24, 2019 10:45AM EDT

I have a basic account, and it says uploading videos to Dotsub is "temporarily disabled" but that I can post to vimeo or youtube. But then when I post to youtube, Dotsub doesn't just want the link, but complete access to my youtube account. This access would literally allow Dotsub to "See, edit, and permanently delete your YouTube videos, ratings, comments and captions," manage my youtube videos and manage my youtube account. This seems extreme and I have not been able to find any information on the website about your privacy policy or what you would or would promise not to do with my account or information. Seems like a bad policy. Any way to get info on this?

Hi Malia,

Thanks for your e-mail — The permission you are seeing is needed so that videos are pushed from Dotsub to YouTube, thus modifying content on your channel.
Dotsub makes no use of the connection you establish to modify your channel content or manage your videos, this is done entirely by you.

Best regards,
