Brightcove Getting Started Guide

There are two parts to integrating Dotsub and your Brightcove account. 

Video Ingest: Setting up Dotsub to pull in videos from your Brightcove account for captioning.
Video Push: Setting up Dotsub to upload captions back into your Brightcove account. 
 

Setting up Brightcove Video Ingest


You can configure a Brightcove video ingest from the project settings tab in your project dashboard. Hitting the 'plus' on the Media Ingestors pane allows you to add a new ingestor. From the type menu select 'Brightcove'.



There are two required configuration options: 

API Key: A read with URL access token for your Brightcove account. You can find Brightcove's documentation on accessing your tokens here: http://support.brightcove.com/en/video-cloud/docs/managing-media-api-tokens#get  
 
Tags: Tags are used to denote what Brightcove videos are ingested into Dotsub. We suggest using a tag of 'dotsub' or 'captions'. If no tag is entered all videos in your Brightcove account will be ingested. 



Now all you have to do it tag a video in your Brightcove account with the configured tag, then hit the ingest button on Dotsub. If you'd like a tutorial on tagging Brightcove videos, you can find one here: http://support.brightcove.com/en/video-cloud/training-videos/tagging-videos 

You can check your configuration is correct on the 'Project Information' tab. Here you will see the ingest logs. 


 

Setting up Brightcove Video Push


You can configure a Brightcove video push from the project settings tab in your project dashboard. Hitting the 'gear' on the Media Push pane allows you to add a new ingestor. From the type menu select 'Brightcove'.



Media Push has only one configuration option: 

API Key: A write access token for your Brightcove account. You can find Brightcove's documentation on accessing your tokens here: http://support.brightcove.com/en/video-cloud/docs/managing-media-api-tokens#get  



Once configured, each published caption or translation will be uploaded back into your Brightcove account. 

You can check your configuration is correct on the 'Project Information' tab. Here you will see the push logs.
